And most ...Thank you all for your words of support. And most of all, thank you for caring.

This is a horrible time...one that many families face when a family member nears the end of life. Ideally, and I have heard bloggers are idealists, lol,Mom would be at home, in her chair, when she passes over, and she may still be there, yet. I can't discount that.

I still don't know what is wrong with Mom, invasive tests are still being made that confuse her even more. Once more, today, I will travel to see her, and perhaps, today, against all odds, she will be better.

All I really want is for her to be comfortable, and the medical system has forgotten how to do that. They focus on tests and scientific evidence, forgetting that the aged patient is also human.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your words and thoughts...at this time, it keeps me going to fight another day. And Dave, thank you so much for the distant healing.

I don't know what I would be like if I didn't have Reiki as a tool in calming my mother and myself.Marionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00607220451457829777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18435846.post-77476831904224811322006-12-07T07:19:00.000-08:002006-12-07T07:19:00.000-08:00You go for it Girl. Let your writing skills ...Hannelie has a good idea. Let your writing skills work for you in this terrible mess.

Oh Marion, I feel for your pain and utter frustration. I can't even imagine having to deal with a medical system that uncaring. The only time it came close for me was when my mother had a UTI, and we put her in the hospital. They, too, took her off all her meds. They basically ignored her yells of pain, as an Alzheimer's patient, even though I was there 24 hours a day to tell them she was in pain. I called her doctor and had her brought home to Hospice Care. I couldn't stand it.

Do you have anything like Hospice where you are? If so, I'd look into it. Could she come home with you? You're worrying yourself to death over her being 40 miles away, and it really doesn't sound like she needs to be by herself any more, anyway.

You have every right to your anger. Find the hospital Ombudsman and put up a big stink if it takes it, but get her the proper care, or get her out of there. That would be my advice to you, for what it's worth.

Sending lots of prayers and hugs your way, and especially praying for peace for your mother's troubled mind.

All my love to you in this horrible time...Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10226054665586033464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18435846.post-38101221151448386832006-12-05T20:03:00.000-08:002006-12-05T20:03:00.000-08:00I feel for you and your mother. You should mail this whole post to your local newspaper anyway so other people can notice what's going on.
How unfair can things get you want to ask. I agree with you, take it to the media, let the public know what's going on. Wishing you well and I hope your mum is getting better now. Take care and best wishes.Fleahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14277854645434859624noreply@blogger.com
